Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Agreement”) govern wedding officiant services provided by Promised and Pronounced in Oregon or Washington.

1. Services
Promised and Pronounced agrees to provide wedding officiant services as discussed and confirmed in writing, including consultation, rehersal, ceremony planning and officiating on the agreed date, time, and location.

2. Booking & Payment
A non-refundable retainer of 100. is required to secure your wedding date. The remaining balance is due no later than 30 prior to the ceremony. Services may be cancelled if payment is not received on time.

3. Cancellations & Rescheduling

Client cancellations will result in forfeiture of the retainer.
The 100. retainer is non-refundable.
Requests to reschedule will be accommodated if availability allows, but are not guaranteed.
In the unlikely event the officiant must cancel, all payments received will be refunded.

4. Marriage License
Clients are responsible for obtaining a valid Oregon marriage license prior to the ceremony. The officiant will complete and return the license as required by Oregon law, but is not responsible for delays caused USPS, by incorrect or incomplete information.

5. Client Responsibilities
Clients agree to:

Provide accurate ceremony details in a timely manner
Ensure access to the ceremony location
Obtain any necessary permits or permissions for the venue

6. Liability
Promised and Pronounced, Chenin West is not liable for circumstances beyond control, including but not limited to weather, venue issues, or delays caused by third parties. Liability is limited to the total amount paid for services.

7. Force Majeure
Neither party shall be held responsible for failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, smoke events, illness, government restrictions, or emergencies.

8. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Oregon.

9. Agreement
By booking services, the client acknowledges and agrees to these Terms & Conditions.

Promised and Pronounced (“Chenin West, I, we, us, or our) is a wedding officiant service based in Bend, Oregon. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with applicable laws, including Oregon and Washington privacy and consumer protection laws.

Name, email address, and phone number
Wedding date, location, and ceremony details
Payment and billing information (processed securely through third-party providers)

How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:

Respond to inquiries and communicate with you

Comply with legal obligations in the States of Oregon and Washington.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only:

With service providers and vendors involved with your rehearsal or wedding necessary to operate our business
If required by law, regulation, or legal process in Oregon Washington and or the United States.

We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to safeguard your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.

Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, including for business, legal, or tax requirements under Oregon, Washington and federal law.

While we strive to ensure a smooth and meaningful ceremony, we are not responsible for delays, disruptions, or issues beyond our control, including weather, venue conditions, vendor performance, or guest conduct.

Clients are solely responsible for obtaining a valid Oregon or Washington marriage license and ensuring all information provided is accurate. While we will properly complete and submit the license as required, Promised and Pronounced is not liable for errors resulting from incorrect or incomplete information provided by the couple or for delays in processing by county offices.

Our services are ceremonial in nature and do not constitute legal advice.
